New Lice Clinics of America Opens in Greenville Just as Furman University Experiences Head Lice Epidemic

Clinic provides guaranteed, one-hour lice treatments using the up state’s only FDA-cleared medical device

Greenville, South Carolina

Just as Furman University experiences a rash of head lice cases, a new Lice Clinics of America urgent care treatment center has opened, using revolutionary medical technology to stop head lice in their tracks with a non-toxic, fast, guaranteed effective solution.

Lice Clinics of America – Greenville provides screening, diagnosis and treatment options for people affected by head lice. The clinic is staffed by certified operators of the AirAllé device, an FDA-cleared medical device that kills head lice and lice eggs using controlled heated air.

“Furman University is experiencing a very high number of students with head lice,” said clinic owner Heather. “We have screened approximately 150 students in two days and about 40 were positive.”

Lice spread primarily through head-to-head contact. It’s not uncommon for cases of head lice to spike after school breaks, as kids get back together and exchange hugs. Winter break can be especially problematic as people also share hats and scarves.

“The local community is experiencing what researchers have been tracking for years – that over-the-counter lice products no longer work because lice have become resistant to the pesticides.” Heather said.

A 2016 study published in the Journal of Medical Entomology found that 98 percent of head lice in most states are now immune to the chemicals used in the most popular head lice products. The AirAllé treatment is pesticide-free and requires no nitpicking.

“We have the best technology on the market that is clinically proven to kill live lice and more than 99 percent of eggs (nits), all in a single session,” Heather said.

Heather opened the Greenville clinic after her own head lice nightmare. “When my young daughters and I all got head lice, it was a traumatic experience that I’ll never forget,” Heather said. “I stayed up all night cleaning and researching the best methods to get rid of lice. It’s so rewarding to have people leave our clinic lice-free in as little as an hour. ”

The Greenville clinic is located at 1 Creekview Court, Suite C, and is open six days per week by appointment. AirAllé treatments take about an hour and come with a 30-day guarantee when all family members are treated or screened for head lice.
